Supported and Tested - Full Support for Linux

  • As of this release, the following Linux distributions with the SysTrack Linux Agent have been fully tested and are officially supported:

    • Ubuntu

      • 20.04

      • 22.04

      • 24.04

    • Red Hat

      • 8.8

      • 8.10

      • 9.4

    • Rocky Linux

      • 8.10

      • 9.4 (Support for 9.4 ends November 2024)

Limited Support for Other Linux Distributions

Limited support means that while specific Linux distributions are not fully tested prior to release, we will provide assistance to ensure compatibility with our product. However, any issues found in these versions, may take longer to resolve, and there may be limitations compared to fully supported versions. The level of support for any Linux versions is contingent on the current support provided by the manufacturers.

  • The Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable dependencies included with the agent installer for Windows x86 have been updated to the 2015-2022 version (14.38.33135.0). The binaries are included in the agent installer. Agents upgraded from the SysTrack console will not automatically upgrade their binaries until the next agent release.

  • For the 11.0 release we recommended upgrading your agent. This updated agent included a change to make sure that custom configurations do not revert to a default state and remove your custom configuration settings on some machines in your environment.

  • A known issue exists where you will be unable to trigger an update from the SysTrack console for systems that were installed with a fresh 10.12 Windows agent. The issue does not affect any system upgraded from a previous version. It is recommended that you choose one of the following options:

    • Use your external deployment tool to install the SysTrack 11.1 agent on the affected systems.

    • Complete a manual install of the SysTrack 11.1 agent on the affected systems.

    • If you are unable to use these methods, reach out to your Customer Success representative for an automation-based workaround.

NOTE: If you are a customer that uses your own deployment tools to manage agents, you are not affected by this issue.

  • We discontinued support for version 10.2.1 agents on June 26, 2024

  • We discontinued support for version 10.2 agents on April 24, 2024.

  • We discontinued support for version 10.1 agents on February 27, 2024.

  • Microsoft discontinued support of Windows Server 2012 effective October 2023. We ended support for all systems that are running on older versions of Microsoft Windows Server prior to and including 2012.

  • We are making updates to our documentation for easier navigation and a better user experience. You will continue to have access to our public facing content, which will also include a convenient way to sign in to view our authenticated content. If you have bookmarks for content in either of our current documentation portals, you may need to reset them and link to our new portal at documentation.lakesidesoftware.com.

New

Audit API

With this release, you can now use new Audit API endpoints to improve tracking, auditing, and transparency of user activity across your environment. These updates enhance your ability to maintain compliance and monitor critical events.

User Activity Endpoints:

  • User Logins: Tracks when users log into the cloud platform after authentication.

  • User Logouts: Captures when users explicitly log out of the system.

  • Pending Invitations: Tracks user invitations that have been sent but not yet registered.

  • Newly Created Users: Tracks when new users are created and registered.

  • Deleted Users: Logs when users are removed from the system.

Permission and Group Changes Endpoints:

  • User Group Changes: Track when users are added or removed from groups.

  • Permissions for Specific Features: Monitor changes to groups and their assigned roles and permissions

  • Permissions for Sub-Features: View the current state of user permissions, including assigned group memberships.

  • Current User Permissions: Displays the current state of user permissions.

NOTE: Since this service is introduced with the 11.1 release, no historical data exists, and tracking will only begin once the service becomes active in this version.

Enhancements to Anomalies

  • Users can provide feedback to the Lakeside Product team on the detected anomalies. This feedback will be used to improve the model.

  • Users with Configure access will see a Manage Notifications link on the Anomalies page. Click Manage Notifications to open Configure to setup Anomaly notifications.

  • The default view for the Systems table shows systems with the Active status. If there are no systems in the Active status, it will default to show All Systems.

  • A Sensor category has been added to the Sensors Involved table when viewing a Previous Anomaly.

  • When hovering over an anomaly tile on the Anomalies page, the corresponding anomaly will be highlighted on the History graph. When hovering over a red exclamation point on the History graph, the carousel will rotate and highlight the corresponding anomaly.

  • Anomaly names can now include spaces.

  • The count of systems with each status can be viewed from the System table dropdown menu.

  • A Show Systems button has been added to the Activity Feed when an anomaly is detected. Click this button to filter the Systems table to show the systems found to have the anomaly at the time of detection.

AppVision Performance Improvements

Performance improvements were made to AppVision.

Azure AD Data Collection for macOS

On Apple macOS systems, SysTrack now collects Entra ID user information, in the same way that it does onWindows systems.

RBAC for Automations

Customers can assign SysTrack Permission groups to individual automations. This allows more control over which users can access automations across Prevent, Resolve and Assist. Existing automations will be available to the All Users group upon upgrade, so that functionality is not impacted.

File Scanning

Improved UI for uploading files when actions are created. A visual status on scan progress is provided.

Sign Actions with a Certificate and Private Key

For SysTrack Actions that you build, you now have the option to sign the action with your own certificate, from a trusted CA, and your own private key. This new functionality allows you to revoke the certificate, immediately preventing the action from running on endpoints when necessary.

NOTE: This certificate signing feature is compatible with SysTrack Cloud and SysTrack On-Premises.
